A Collaborative Facelift with Kenya Builders & Corban Construction Limited.
Mirema Church, located in Nairobi, needed a functional, attractive parking area that could serve its growing congregation. The existing surface was uneven, prone to waterlogging, and unattractive. As part of a broader infrastructure upgrade, the objective was to create a durable parking space for up to 40 vehicles, improve drainage, and enhance the overall look and accessibility of the church grounds.
Kenya Builders & Concrete Ltd teamed up with Corban Construction Limited to deliver the materials and craftsmanship needed to realize this vision.
Kenya Builders supplied several key materials, each chosen for durability, performance, and visual appeal:
|
Component |
Purpose |
Key Features |
|
60 mm Paving Blocks |
Base surface for driveway and parking area capable of handling constant vehicle traffic |
Strength ≥ 49 N/mm²; available in multiple designs (Uni, Decor, Quad, Pavia) to allow aesthetic variety |
|
Road Kerbs & Channels |
To define parking boundaries and guide water flow off the surface |
Crisp edges for demarcation; channels efficiently drain rainwater |
|
Warren Pipes |
Core part of drainage – convey water runoff away from parking area |
Male-and-female interlocking joints for precise alignment; robust structure to handle high flow; less prone to leak or shift |
Construction was handled by Corban Construction under Site Supervisor Andrew Were, ensuring proper site preparation, exact installation of pipes, kerbs, and paving blocks, and alignment with plans for traffic flow and drainage.
Corban Construction singled out Kenya Builders for several strengths:
“Kenya Builders delivered not just materials, but peace of mind. The parking surface is firm, the edges are sharp, and even in heavy downpours we’ve had zero puddles. Our congregation comments on how welcoming the entrance now looks — it’s a reflection of the care put into every detail.”
— Andrew Were, Site Supervisor, Corban Construction Ltd
